In an effort to give something back to the Triad community that was so gracious to the Virginia Tech family in the time following the shootings of April 16, 2007, we have offered our help to Next Step Ministries. Next Step Ministries is a Kernersville non-profit organization that runs a safe house for abused women and their children. They need help to build a swing set for those children and we have offered to build it on April 18th. Materials have already been procured, we just need a bunch of helping hands to get it put together. We will likely start at 1pm and spend the afternoon completing the project.
If you would like to help Next Step but don't feel you're up to the demands of swing set building, please volunteer anyway...there are plenty of other odd jobs that could be done in and around the house.
If you would like to help, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and he will add you to the list to stay informed of the project details. We have to give Next Step advance notice about who is coming so that they can run background checks on our volunteers.
