Greetings Hokies!
Hope this update finds everyone doing well these days and enjoying the fall weather. A few items for everyone to be aware of:
- Next alumni meeting will be at Fatz at 619 S. Regional Road in Greensboro this coming Monday night. The social half hour begins at 5:30 and the meeting begins at 6:00. The meeting lasts about an hour and there is no cost to attend. Come socialize, network and meet other Hokies in the Triad
- If you are looking to buy or sell game tickets, check out our website at www.nctriadhokies.com You can post there what your needs are in the forum section. You will need to sign up there on the website to become interactive, but that is simple to do. If you can't figure that out, you can call my cell phone at 336-407-8413. I often hear of extra tickets floating around.
- I have sent out emails about the upcoming UNC-G / VT basketball game in Greensboro on 11/21 along with a brunch option prior to the game. Mark Whitehouse needs your check for game tickets immediately if you plan to attend. His number is 336-852-8822
- Thanks to Rich Carpenter, Mark Whitehouse and Jim Goff who volunteered to work our local College Fairs this week to represent VT and hand out information to high school students
- Congratulations to Jill Heyman from our chapter who was named Outstanding Volunteer for all VT chapters throughout the world for this past year. Jill continues to work hard to bring new people into our chapter through various means and has helped organize various events including our Komen Race for the Cure and many social events. Way to go Jill!
- At the annual Officer's Forum in Blacksburg, our Chapter also received the Outstanding Chapter award and Outstanding Event award for the fundraiser golf tournament for Carroll Dale's grandson in conjunction with the Hokie Club
- We will have a VT social at Divine Llama Vineyards in East Bend on October 24th. More details to follow on that.
- We will have a holiday social on December 9th at the Emerald Center in Greensboro. Please save the date. More details will follow.
