Hokies in business in the Triad 1 Year, 9 Months ago
Hi Triad Hokies,
Maybe I need to start coming to the monthly meetings (OK, Yes, I DO need to start coming) and I'd probably know some of this information, but I didn't see it readily evident so I thought I'd put it out here (hopefully not in violation of any TOS anywhere!).

Is there a resource of Hokies in business (small, indy, other?) in the Triad? I'd love to be able to patronize other Hokies in business and of course would love to have the favor returned. I'm half-owner of Aspenwood Realtors, and my business partner is also a Hokie, so we're a wholly-Hokie-owned business right here in Greensboro. I need a website built and would love to give the opportunity to a fellow Hokie that knows his/her stuff. I know enough to be dangerous, but am in no way qualified to do it on my own.

Thoughts?

Yes, you should make it to the meetings. (Although I have little room to talk, as I've been MIA for most of the last two years because of evening classes.)

As far as I'm aware, there's not a compiled listing of Hokies in small business. It's possible to glean that information from the Alumni Directory, since they have a much larger reach than the site does. I can only speak for about half a dozen or so of the "regulars" who make it out to the monthly meetings and events. I believe, however, that by and large, most of the alumni are mid-size corporate and up.

If you're wanting to talk sites, drop me an email and we can talk a bit more. It's not my primary profession, but maybe there's something I can do for you, or at least point you in the right direction.
