Hello fellow NC Triad Hokie Alum! I hope this will serve as an official introductory thread (admin, can we make this a sticky?) with the idea that others will join and introduce themselves as is commonplace on other interest-related online forums that I'm involved with.
So, here goes.....
I'm Wylie Bean, VT '92 (Econ)
Originally from NoVA, moved to GSO in '94
Currently reside in N. Guilford County
Married to my wonderful wife of 12 years (she's a Tarheel fan, but I still love her, and she pulls for the Hokies in football, so she's not all bad), blessed with 2 fantastic children, a son (9) and daughter (6).
Co-own Aspenwood Realtors with Joe Vipperman (also a VT Alum)
I've been licensed and active in Greensboro real estate since '95.
Interests include Audi automobiles (anybody else?), ice hockey and skating, high performance driving events, road racing, and doing a little yard work for stress relief.
I'm sure there's more where that came from, but you get the idea. Looking forward to meeting more Triad Hokies.

Thanks for starting the thread, Wylie...
I am Tom Pizarro, Class of '92 (Math, Computer Science & Math Ed)
My wife, Michelle (formerly Michelle Franklin) also graduated in '92 (Management Science)
We have a 16-month-old daughter, Maria, and Michelle is expecting again in late August. We are not the "find out right away" kind of people so no clue whether it is a boy or a girl.
We are looking forward to getting to know a few more area hokies through this fantastically improved website RJ has put together for us!

(Guess I need to take care of my long-overdue introduction)
I'm RJ Webb (yes, I go by my initials), class of 2001, Financial Planning (that's not the title on the diploma, however).
I moved here in Fall of 2002, transplanted from Beavercreek, OH (outside of Dayton).
Currently, I work for Ameriprise Financial, assistant to an advisor. I'm also completing my MS in Accounting from UNC-G, and will eventually transfer careers.

Tom Parker - Class of 1981.
I was graduated from the Business School but took enough education classes to gain a teaching certification. I was also involved in the music program at VT - different instrumental groups + The New Virginians. Great fun with that crowd.
I've taught various mathematics in Guilford County School for 23 years. I currently teach AP Stats and Geometry at SW Guilford HS. We sent an engineering student to Hokieland last summer but I don't believe we did in '09.
A colleague and I decorated each other's adjacent classrooms several years back when VT played Auburn in the Sugar(?) Bowl. Danny Harndon of Fox8 came over and did a story on the rooms and the kids. Of course, my Hokie stuff in his room far outshined the pathetic Tigers that unfortunately disgraced my classroom.
My personal corner of ths classroom is always adorned with VT banners, posters, etc. - just to remind my students that their lame little NC schools pale in comparison to the Mighty Hokies.

Hello fellow Triad Hokies, First of all I would like to give credit to the new website, Somebody has spent alot of time and energy getting this thing up and running, very nice!
My name is Jarod Simmons, Building Construction Class of 2005 and currently live in my hometown of Mount Airy, NC, just a few minutes up the road. However, I lack five weeks from today on finishing my MBA from High Point University. This is why I haven't been to a meeting yet, it always seems that I have class on meeting nights. So, it would be fair to say that I spend just as much, if not more, time in the Triad area than I do the foothills.
I am a General Contractor licensed in NC and VA and enjoy doing some small real estate development work as well. But times are really tough right now, so I am truly thankful to be in school as well.
I am not married yet, but I do have a girlfriend that lives in Greensboro, again, giving more reason behind why I spend more time there than here!
Anyway, that is enough about me, I look forward to being more involved with the Triad Chapter, getting to know more Hokies and working to see this chapter grow.
Regards, Jarod Simmons

Hello, everyone. My name is Jeff Fishel. My wife, Tami, and I are parents of current VT student Adam Fishel.
Adam was fortunate enough to be one of the recipients of the NC Triad VTAA scholarship in 2008.
I am actually a 1986 graduate of Appalachian State University, but am quickly becoming a Hokie fan since Adam is attending there.
Adam is a sophomore and an engineering major, hopefully concentrating in mechanical engineering. He LOVES attending VT, and we're very thankful for that.
My wife and I had the opportunity to help at VT's table last year at the college fair in Winston-Salem, and hope to help again if needed.
